Privacy Policy
Landit reads your CV to find jobs that fit, so we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights you have under UK data protection law.
1. Who we are
Landit (“Landit”, “we”, “us”) provides a job-matching service to individuals in the United Kingdom. For the purposes of the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, we are the controller of the personal data described in this policy.
Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to samuel@ntemdo.tech
2. The data we collect
- Account data — your email address, a securely hashed password, and email-verification status.
- CV and profile data — the CV you upload and everything we extract from it: your name and contact details, work history, education, skills and summary. Please do not include special-category data (such as health, religion, or ethnicity) in your CV, as it is not needed to match you to roles.
- Preferences — your target roles, locations, salary expectations, seniority and notification settings.
- Matching activity — the matches we generate, their scores and explanations, and your actions on them (saved, applied, dismissed) which help us improve relevance.
- Billing data — if you subscribe to a paid plan, payments are handled by Stripe. We store your subscription status and a Stripe customer reference; we do not store your card details.
- Technical data — IP address, device and browser information, and log data generated when you use the service.
3. How we use your data, and our legal bases
- To provide the service — parsing your CV, building your profile, and matching you to jobs — on the basis of performing our contract with you.
- To analyse and score matches using automated models and to improve match quality — on the basis of our legitimate interests in delivering and improving the service, and performing our contract.
- To send you match alerts and digests — according to the notification preferences you choose (contract and, where required, your consent).
- To take payment and manage subscriptions — to perform our contract and meet our legal obligations.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse — on the basis of our legitimate interests.
4. Automated matching and AI
Landit uses automated processing to work. Your CV is converted into a numerical representation (an “embedding”) and, together with job descriptions, is analysed by AI models to produce a fit score, an explanation, highlights and any gaps. This ranks and filters roles for you.
This processing does not make a decision that produces legal or similarly significant effects about you: whether to apply for any role always remains your choice. We show you the reasoning behind each match, you can edit your profile and keyword map at any time, and you can contact us to ask a person to review how your profile is being used.
6. International transfers
Some of our providers process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on an adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards — such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Standard Contractual Clauses — so that your data receives an equivalent level of protection.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your account and profile data for as long as your account is active. Your CV and extracted profile are kept until you replace or delete them, or you close your account. When you close your account we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we must keep certain records longer to meet legal obligations (for example billing and tax records). Backups are purged on a rolling schedule.
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased;
- restrict or object to how we process it;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent where we rely on it; and
- not be subject to a solely automated decision that has a legal or similarly significant effect.
You can export or delete your data from your account settings, or contact samuel@ntemdo.tech
9. Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls and least-privilege practices. No online service can be completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to notify you and the regulator of any breach where the law requires.
11. Children
Landit is intended for people aged 18 and over. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the date at the top and, where changes are material, we will let you know. Your continued use of Landit after an update means you accept the revised policy.
